Location

We play at two locations through the year: outdoors on the Hudson River in the summer, and in an indoor heated pool in Jersey City during the winter.

Summer — Pier 66, Hudson River Park

Pier 66

Pier 66 Boathouse, W 26th St & West Side Highway — the summer home of New York Kayak Polo, just 3 blocks north of Chelsea Piers.

Water conditions:

Getting there: Find Pier 66 Boathouse on Google Maps for directions by transit, car, bike, or on foot.

Parking: Some street parking may be available on or adjacent to 26th St. More (paid) parking is available at Chelsea Piers, three blocks south of our home at 26th Street. Once you have parked, follow the pedestrian walkway north along the waterfront to Pier 66.

Winter — St. Peter’s University, Jersey City

Intro session

During the winter we play in an indoor heated pool in the Yanitelli Recreation Center at Saint Peter’s University, near the intersection of Montgomery St. and Fairmount Terrace in Jersey City, NJ.

The pool is in a large brown building on Montgomery, almost opposite Fairmount Terrace. Walk into the driveway; the pool is in the building with the sloping wall on your left. At the end of the driveway there are steps down to the left to access the building — you’ll see the pool inside on the left.

Getting there: Find the Yanitelli Center on Google Maps for directions by transit, car, bike, or on foot.

By PATH: Take the PATH train to Journal Square Station. Follow JFK Boulevard to Montgomery Avenue. The walk takes about 15 minutes from the Journal Square PATH station to the pool.

Parking: Available in the University lot on Montgomery Street.

Can I get a ride?

Please post a comment in our Meetup group for a specific session if you need a ride, and where from. One of the other players will usually get back to you if they can offer a ride. For regulars, please contact your fellow NYKPers directly — you know who drives by now and can see if they are coming on Meetup.
